At the International Green Finance Forum: Financing for a Sustainable Economy (FIVERDE 2025).

During Day 1, topics were addressed that directly align with the challenges and opportunities of the financial sector:

✅ Risk management in a changing environment: innovation must be accompanied by solid frameworks that ensure trust and stability. Hence the importance of incorporating climate risk analysis in every financial institution and having sustainability strategies.

Connecting environmental teams with financial ones. Managing risks with a long-term vision, incorporating environmental and climate risks into management.

A climate risk can create greater exposure to credit risk for SMEs.

✅ Financial and social sustainability: It is not enough to grow; growth must be responsible and inclusive.

The transition to a resilient and inclusive green economy is a strategy to redirect capital towards activities that address the climate crisis and generate sustainable development.

✅ Financial inclusion as a long-term strategy: Expanding access for underserved populations strengthens the financial system and opens new business opportunities.

✅ Challenges: In Peru, only 22% access formal credit and the figure is lower in rural areas. It is important that measurable products exist adapted to local realities, seasonal incomes, and the challenge posed by the high rate of informality.

✅Transparency and international standards: These are key aspects to attract investment and generate trust in the markets. Distortions in management must be corrected to guide the market with clear signals, through alignment with international standards, thus generating transparency and trust.

✅Purposeful innovation: Fintechs, AI, and Blockchain are tools to create more accessible and secure services, but the true value lies in how they contribute to a more resilient financial system that is closer to people.

The goal is to develop products adapted to international standards to access international green financing.

Similarly, the aim is to create financial instruments to reach the most vulnerable productive entities to climate change.

💡These topics align with the mission of MicroRate, which promotes trust, transparency, and proper risk management as pillars for a sustainable and competitive financial sector.
