MicroRate presented the first edition of the MicroRate Excellence Awards, an initiative created to recognize entities that stand out for their leadership, trajectory, and contribution to the development of the financial sector in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The ceremony took place during the XII Central American and Caribbean Microfinance Conference, held from June 10 to 12 in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, one of the most important meetings for organizations that promote access to financial services in the region.
In this first edition, the following organizations were recognized: Banco Adopem (Dominican Republic), Fundación Génesis Empresarial (Guatemala), FUNDENUSE (Nicaragua), Banco Integral S.A. (El Salvador), Banco Pichincha Microfinanzas (Ecuador), CREDICAMPO (El Salvador), and Caja Municipal de Ahorro y Crédito Piura (Peru).

The MicroRate Excellence Awards consist of three categories: the Institutional Excellence Award, the Social and Environmental Impact Leadership Award, and the MicroRate Legacy Award. These awards aim to highlight various aspects that set the selected organizations apart, including institutional excellence, social and environmental impact, as well as their track record and demonstrated commitment over time.
The initiative arises with the purpose of highlighting experiences that inspire and reflect how a clear vision, consistent management, and commitment to people can translate into organizations that generate trust and become benchmarks within their respective markets.
For MicroRate, recognizing these stories also represents an opportunity to highlight the work that many entities do every day to expand opportunities, promote the development of their communities, and contribute to building more solid and sustainable financial systems.
