Our STORY

  • 1997

    SECTOR PIONEERS

    MicroRate began operations from its Washington D.C. headquarters in the United States.

  • 2003

    CREATION OF A BRANCH OFFICE

    A branch office was opened in Lima, Peru, with the aim of coordinating its Latin American and Caribbean operations from there.

  • 2011

    AUTHORIZATION BY PERU’S SUPERINTENDENCY OF BANKING AND INSURANCE (SBS)

    MicroRate obtained the authorization and recognition of Peru’s Superintendency of Banking and Insurance (SBS) to operate as a regulated risk rating agency.

  • 2016

    CREATION OF OUR RESEARCH UNIT

    MicroRate Research, a business unit geared to sectoral research and analysis, was created with a view to providing analysis studies and tools to our rated customers, as well as to agents with an interest in the microfinance and financial sector.
