Since 1996, MicroRate has been developing tools to increase the flow of funding to microfinance institutions. Through MicroRate’s various evaluations products, MFIs have been rewarded for excellence in microfinance, social performance and commitment, and have improved visibility and professionalism of their organizations.  MicroRate has worked with hundreds of MFIs from small NGOs to large banks.
MicroRate’s various evaluation products are designed to help MFIs improve in their operations and attract outside investment.
Performance Ratings- Evaluate excellence in microfinance
Social Rating- Evaluate social performance and social commitment
Credit Ratings- Evaluate the risk of default in an MFI
Institutional Diagnostic Evaluations- Help young or developing MFIs by highlighting strengths and weaknesses; This product is designed for an MFI’s leadership team whereas MicroRate’s traditional rating products are designed to provide investors with information on an MFI.
